Orthotist

Duties and Responsibilities: Orthotists work with patients that need extra support on their limbs, muscles, and spine. Both design and make fit apparatuses made of plastic, wood, leather, and metal that help stabilize, strengthen or replace body parts.

Average Salary: $25,000-$40,000

Educational Requirements: Students should take challenging courses like science, math, and English in high school. Some colleges offer bachelor degrees in orthotic and prosthetic programs. After a year of experience a person may apply for certification.
